Mr. Wess was born with Spina Bifida and has played Sled Hockey for six years. Justin started out

playing with the Pittsburgh Mighty Penguins as a net minder. Justin's coach,

Sue Birkmire was excited as The Penguins needed a goalie. He has been a goalie ever since. He

then was chosen to play with the Under-20 team from inception until he aged out. Justin is one of the

original Bugs, starting from their humble beginnings and is still a vital part of team success. Justin has

won several "MVP" and "Outstanding Athlete" awards during his hockey career. He travels to remote

locations to play: Colorado, Tennessee, Connecticut, New Jersey, Maine, Massachusetts within the

US and Canada/Sweden for international events. Although Justin excels as a goal tender, he also

enjoys “skating out” to allow the other two net minders playing time. Justin will be attending Oakbridge

Academy of Arts this summer, majoring in Photography.
